PLASTIC ANGELS

"Plastic Angels" by Shunya Yamashita—did you know that this popular series, which began in 2013 in Armor Modeling, a magazine dedicated to tank plastic models published by Dainippon Kaiga, has already spawned two art books, both of which have even gone into reprint?

The series revolves around the everyday lives of Anje, a short-haired high school girl and president of the plastic model-making club, her long-haired junior Ranna, and their pet pug Mog. Their charming and pop-filled world takes us through scenes of model-making in their clubroom, glimpses of their daily commute, and seasonal event cosplay, always featuring the delightful antics of the two girls and one dog.

What’s more, Yamashita-sensei is a plastic model enthusiast himself, so fans of plastic models and mechanics will find little touches in the illustrations that will make them chuckle. The attention to detail is so thorough that every inch of these illustrations can be fully enjoyed.
