This is a summer illustration I drew while trying to capture that humid, almost tropical air and sweltering heat in a refreshing way. It was created for a bonus calendar. I love sunsets. I especially love orange skies—both seeing them in real life and drawing them—so I feel like I’ve drawn quite a lot of them over the years.

Shimmering pearlescent paint has been carefully sprayed over the artwork to capture the vivid light of summer.

Glitter has been applied to the highlighted areas of the hibiscus flowers and accessories, adding a subtle sense of dimension and depth.

To further enhance the artwork, we selected a mat with a yellow-colored core that creates a subtle accent along the cut edges. The piece is finished with a simple white frame that blends naturally into a wide variety of interiors.
