Kazuhiro Ochi
Born on February 19, 1962 in Gifu Prefecture, he moved to Tokyo by himself in July 1978 at the age of 16. He made his debut as an animator with the movie "Uchu Majin Daikengo (Daikengo, The Guardian of Space)". In 1979, he studied under the genius animator Yoshinori Kanada, who had a life-changing impact on him when he saw his work. In 1980, he made his first original drawing for "New Tetsujin-28," and in 1987, he made his directorial and character design debut with the OVA "Gakuen Tokusou Hikaruon (Campus Special Investigator Hikaruon)". In 1987, he became the first director and first character designer for the TV animation "Lady Lady!!".
In 1989, he shifted his focus to the video game industry, where he wrote and directed the original story for the "Cosmic Fantasy" series, which was not only a consumer game, but also a serialized comic book series and an OVA. In 2003, he began a three-year webcomic serialization of "Dynamic Heroes," in which the robot heroes of Go Nagai's works come together to play an active role. In recent years, he has been working on Soul of Chogokin, D.C. series (BANDAI SPIRITS) as general supervisor and the package illustrations.
In July 2022, he published "Super Robots & Heroes, Artworks" including illustrations for DVD/Blu-ray jacket that he has been drawing for 20 years.
A solo exhibition was held in Shinjuku, Tokyo in September 2022 to commemorate the publication.
