AU

AU is an illustrator best known for her two original worlds: AUWD (AU World) and AUORP (AU Orphans).

She specializes in depicting inhuman beings that appear human, creating figures with an eerie, almost divine beauty that can at times feel unsettling or even frightening.

AU gained significant attention for her illustration work on the music videos for Nijisanji VTuber Kuzuha’s covers of Gishin Anki and Fight Song.

Her professional work also includes novel cover illustrations, Craft Essence artwork for the smartphone game Fate/Grand Order, and character design work for Saburo Kunimune in Touken Ranbu, among many other notable projects.

■ AUWD (AU World)

A long-running original world built around the theme of “gods,” continuously developed over more than a decade.

The gods, who have existed since the dawn of the world, sometimes descend to the earth and speak with humanity.

Within this story, every setting and piece of lore is treated not as something “created,” but as a kind of observational record—a glimpse into a realm beyond human understanding.

■ AUORP (AU Orphans)

A series created alongside AUWD, centered around the theme of “children carrying various kinds of burdens.”

Their circumstances do not dramatically improve.
And yet, they do not define themselves as unhappy.

Avoiding simplistic salvation or romanticized portrayals, these works quietly depict the children simply as they are—existing within their reality.
