I painted this for a solo exhibition held in Sendai. The famous things in Sendai are the warlord "Masamune Date" and the confectionery "Hagi no Tsuki ".　 I was delighted that Mami's fans in Sendai immediately noticed that the helmet of Masamune Date and the moon ring of ""Hagi no Tsuki"" were hidden in the painting.

*Hagi no Tsuki: Japan's famous Sendai pastry made with custard cream wrapped in sponge cake dough. The picture of Japanese bush clover in the moon is drawn on the package."

We decided on the yellow color of the moon first, then paid attention to the balance between the blue and pink colors of the background.
