88Graph 'Blue & Black' / Mutsumi Inomata

Mutsumi Inomata was said to have loved this fighting game so deeply that she eventually purchased the arcade cabinet herself. She created numerous illustrations for it throughout the 1990s. This 88Graph is a valuable edition derived from one of those rare original illustrations.

This piece arranges the characters in a horizontal line, using a diagonal composition to give the scene a sense of spaciousness. A soft layer of pearlescent paint, gently sprayed over the entire surface, pulls the whole image together and gives it a striking finish. Special care was taken to preserve the detail in the shadowed areas during production.

In the lower right corner, Mutsumi Inomata’s signature is rendered in gold foil, adding a distinctive sense of luxury. The work is framed with a black mat and frame, making it easy to display in any interior while giving it a refined, premium finish.
