Time falls equally upon everyone.
Even so, I paint with the hope of preserving on paper the same brilliance that once shone so vividly on that day.

For this piece, I reimagined and remade one of my earliest illustrations of Kimagure Orange Road — originally created for an LP jacket — revisiting the original artwork and adding new arrangements.

As we approach the 40th anniversary, I hope this illustration will mark a new beginning for the memories we all share.

This remade illustration showcases Akemi Takada’s refined artistry and decades of experience, expressed through even more intricate and delicate detail.

Compared to the original version, each character’s outfit has been significantly updated — Madoka’s black sleeveless turtleneck adds a more sensual allure, while her expression now conveys a gentle warmth and the sophisticated charm of a mature woman.　The nostalgic design of the telephone remains, preserving the atmosphere of the era, while the tiled sky pattern in the background brings a refreshing and contemporary touch.　A work that beautifully celebrates the passage of forty years — evoking the joy of seeing this beloved image reborn in our time.

This 88Graph is the same size as the original, which is one size larger than the regular version, so it has enough presence to change the atmosphere of your room at once.
