Just a few months ago, the original artwork for this monumental piece was discovered by chance. It is a breathtaking work, showcasing Mutsumi Inomata’s intricate linework and a color palette that is both delicate and bold. The girl’s beauty—at once enchanting and innocent—captures the viewer at first glance.

In the original artwork, glitter is applied to the girl’s lips and parts of the butterfly wings. To faithfully reproduce this sparkle, artisans at EDITION88 have hand-painted each individual 88Graph. A soft layer of pearlescent paint is lightly sprayed across the entire surface, enhancing the transparency of the wings and the ethereal atmosphere of the piece. This work not only recreates the original faithfully, but also highlights a unique beauty that only 88Graph can achieve.

Mutsumi Inomata’s gold-foil signature in the lower right corner adds a distinctive sense of luxury. True to its Platinum Edition status, the piece is presented in a thick silver frame with a black mat, giving it a substantial and refined presence.
