Shunya Yamashita Exhibition Comes to Osaka – Starting May 27

We’re excited to announce that the “Shunya Yamashita Exhibition – 15th Anniversary of the BISHOUJO Series,” which was previously held in Tokyo, is coming to Namba Marui (Osaka) from May 27 (Tue) to June 1 (Sun), 2025!

Organized by VISION8 Inc. (EDITION88 Art Gallery) and in cooperation with Kotobukiya, this exhibition celebrates the 15th anniversary of the BISHOUJO series—a collection of stunning illustrations by Shunya Yamashita that reimagines iconic characters from movies, games, and comics in a uniquely Japanese "bishoujo" style.

The exhibition in Osaka will showcase over 60 BISHOUJO illustrations displayed in the Tokyo show, along with newly drawn works including the much-anticipated “HORROR BISHOUJO: Sadako.”

The venue will also feature 88Graph prints signed by Shunya Yamashita, along with exclusive merchandise. 

A Message from Shunya Yamashita

“Looking back on these 15 years of the BISHOUJO series, I often asked myself—why me? What could I bring to the table? Once a piece left my hands, there wasn’t much more I could do until it became a figure. That’s why I gave my all during the illustration stage. I hope you’ll enjoy seeing the journey and evolution over the years.”
