Born in May 1972 in Yomogita Village, Higashitsugaru District, Aomori Prefecture.
He made his serialized debut in 1997 with Butsu Zone in Weekly Shonen Jump.
From 1998, his series Shaman King was serialized in the same magazine and later adapted into a TV anime.
In 2024, the latest chapter of the series, SHAMAN KING THE SUPER STAR, concluded on the digital platform Magazine Pocket.
