Mutsumi Inomata Retrospective Exhibition Coming to Osaka & Nagoya

Following the overwhelming success of the large-scale retrospective held in Yokohama in December 2025, the Mutsumi Inomata Retrospective Exhibition is now set to tour Osaka and Nagoya.

Celebrated for her exceptional artistry and distinctive world, Mutsumi Inomata has captivated countless fans over the years. This touring exhibition offers another opportunity to experience her remarkable legacy.


What to Expect

The exhibition will feature over 120 original artworks, including richly colored illustrations and manga manuscripts spanning her work in anime, novels, games, and original creations.

In addition, previously unreleased original artworks will be unveiled for the first time.

Visitors can fully appreciate the unique appeal of original works—her delicate linework, refined brushstrokes, and striking sense of depth and presence.

A selection of high-quality 88Graph fine art prints and original merchandise, produced by EDITION88, will also be available at the venue.

This exhibition is a rare opportunity to trace the creative journey of Mutsumi Inomata and immerse yourself in the irreplaceable world she created.

Product Lineup

To commemorate the Osaka opening of the Mutsumi Inomata Retrospective Exhibition, we are introducing a new 88Graph Platinum Edition featuring a previously unpublished illustration by Mutsumi Inomata.

For this special edition, we have used the very same paper that Mutsumi Inomata herself used for her original artwork, placing particular emphasis on faithfully reproducing the original colors, brushwork, and the subtle texture of her traditional art materials.

These 88Graph feature the beautiful artwork of Mutsumi Inomata, the original character designer for the anime series Future GPX Cyber Formula.

Mutsumi Inomata played a vital role in establishing the visual foundation of the series, creating the original character designs for Hayato Kazami and many of the other main characters.

Her elegant and delicately rendered character artwork became one of the defining elements behind the enduring popularity of the Cyber Formula series.
