The Ginza intersection, an iconic Tokyo scene, is one I’ve painted many times before. When done in watercolor, it loses its sense of solemnity and instead exudes a peaceful and serene atmosphere.

When we first saw the original piece, drawn with pen and watercolor, we were thrilled to discover a new dimension of Tokyo Genso's talent. Unlike their digital works, the watercolor artwork evokes a completely different impression, beautifully harmonizing nature and urban landscapes. The result is an extraordinarily calm and warm scene.

In creating the 88Graph, we focused on faithfully capturing the texture of the watercolor to preserve the warmth of the original artwork. We paid special attention to ensure the overall color balance remained intact, as the green tones tended to appear more prominently.

The mat was designed to complement the artwork’s tone, with a natural touch: dark brown edges and a cream-colored surface. Its compact size makes it easy to display anywhere in your home.
